When it comes to establishing and maintaining one’s fitness regimen, it is usually always far easier said than done.  After failing to fit into favorite pair of jeans, we may decide that it’s time to join a gym.  We may even go out and buy new workout gear and shoes, getting all excited about the “new body” that is surely on the horizon.  However, as time moves forward, it can be difficult to remain committed.  It can seem like such a hassle to go to the gym, and perhaps even difficult to workout while surrounded by strangers.  So how can one establish and maintain an effective fitness regimen?  Through online fitness challenge groups.

Online fitness challenge groups can be wonderfully helpful to those individuals who would like to be fit, but don’t want to go to the gym.  These online groups are like virtual gyms, offering individuals the convenience of working out from home, free from all distractions.  As opposed to regular monthly fees that only end when your gym membership ends, online fitness challenge groups normally ask members to pay one fee upfront for their program or challenge pack, from which they get everything they will need for an effective workout regimen that lasts from one week to three months.

A challenge group is comprised of people who are each working on improving their physical health and wellness.  Each group member follows a specific fitness and nutrition plan for a designated length of time (normally 21 days, but sometimes longer).  They check in online to get fitness and nutrition advice as well as support and encouragement from others in their group.  Online fitness challenge groups are great for those individuals who want to be fit but feel they don’t have time to go to the gym to workout, for those individuals who need help learning how to properly exercise, for those individuals who feel uncomfortable at the gym, for those individuals who don’t want to pay for a personal trainer and more.

The immediate appeal of online fitness challenge groups may be obvious, but we still have one burning question: are they effective?  These groups have been gaining in popularity because they usually end in success.  Whatever the challenge, the goals are clearly defined from the beginning with a set timeframe, and those who remain committed throughout often discover that they achieve the results they desire.
